Week 10: Rome

Walking through some of the ruins was an amazing sight.

rome-10

rome-9

Inside the Roman Colosseum.  Directly above the cross is where the Emperor would watch the games

rome-8

These were the tunnels beneath the stage, where all of the “behind the scenes” work was taken place during the games.

This better depicts the actual stage on the right, and the tunnels on the left.

Interlaken, Switzerland: Week 9

interlaken-2

Lake Brienz

interlaken-1

interlaken-3

interlaken-4

Nothing better than an early morning hike with these views

interlaken-5

My new favorite activity:  Canyoning.  This is the start to our 6 hour descent through the canyon.

interlaken-6

The objective of canyoning is to descend through the canyon by jumping, repelling, sliding, swimming, and even swinging.

interlaken-7

The “corkscrew” slide

interlaken-8

The “jump” slide

interlaken-9

This was the scariest jump of the entire adventure.

interlaken-10

This was the narrow path we had to jump through.

interlaken-11

“I hope your aim is well. Only joking. But seriously.” -Our instructor right before we jumped

interlaken-12

As you can see, this adventure provided some pretty amazing views.

A Relaxing Weekend in Florence and Cinque Terre

As midterm papers and exams are rolling around the corner this week, we didn’t get the chance to do much traveling this past weekend.  Instead we traveled back to explore Cinque Terre for half a day and relaxed back in Florence!

hike

A 2 Mile hike from Vernazza to Monterosso with beautiful views.
